2026 Summer Service Integration Internship
Blue Shield of California is seeking a Summer Service Integration Intern to support Stellarus and related activities. The intern will collaborate with senior engineers to design, develop, and deploy automation solutions that facilitate API development activities.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy platform features and automation solutions using cloud-native technologies and modern frameworks with a focus on Azure API Management, Azure Application Gateway, Azure Cache for Redis, and/or FHIR platform
- Configure and optimize Azure API Management instances to meet performance, security, and scalability requirements
- Configure and enhance the APIM Developer Portal for improved developer experience and onboarding
- Enhance CI/CD pipeline automation using Bitbucket Pipelines for API deployments and related services
- Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing integration solutions
- Document technical processes and best practices for platform components and automation workflows
Skills
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- Must reside in the state of California for the duration of the internship
- Understanding of SQL, RESTful APIs, and data serialization formats (JSON, XML)
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and Git version control system
- Programming experience with Python, C#, and/or Java
- Strong problem-solving skills and interest in automation and platform engineering
- Exposure to Redis or other caching technologies is a plus
- Familiarity with Azure cloud platform is a plus
