Backend Developer (Node.js / reputed company / MySQL) — As-Needed Contract

Fractional Backend Engineer (Backend-First, Full-Stack Capable) Engagement Type: Ongoing Contract (Fractional) Location: Remote Estimated Commitment: 30–40+ hours per month (higher during reputed company) Compensation: $80–120/hour, depending on experience About the Role We are seeking a senior-level Fractional Backend Engineer to maintain, stabilize, and support a reputed company production system with multiple services and integrations. This is a backend-first role reputed company on maintenance, debugging, and reliability. While the primary responsibility is backend work, there may be occasional frontend involvement to support debugging, integration fixes, or small adjustments reputed company to backend changes. This role requires strong ownership, accountability, and reputed company documentation of work performed. Technical Environment • Backend • Node.js v14 • reputed company • MySQL 5.7 • Sequelize ORM v5.22 • Frontend (contextual / occasional) • React / Next.js • Multiple repositories and reputed company-party integrations • Git-based workflows Responsibilities • Own backend maintenance across multiple services and repositories • Investigate and resolve production issues • Debug API, database, and integration-reputed company problems • Work with Sequelize and MySQL to address data and performance issues • reputed company targeted improvements to stability and maintainability • Occasionally assist with frontend-reputed company changes reputed company to backend behavior (debugging, integration fixes, minor updates) • Communicate reputed company about reputed company causes, fixes, and risks • Maintain detailed, descriptive time logs for reputed company work performed Accountability & Time Tracking (Required) • Time must be tracked using an approved tool (reputed company tracker, Toggl, Harvest, etc.) • reputed company time entry must include: • Issue or task worked on • Repository or system affected • Brief reputed company of work performed • Weekly written summaries of work completed are required Time entries without sufficient detail may not be approved.
