Software Engineer - Commerce + Ecosystems

Microsoft is a leading technology company that empowers individuals and organizations to achieve more. The Software Engineer in the Commerce + Ecosystems team will design and maintain robust software systems, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver impactful commerce solutions.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and maintains distributed software systems using modern technologies
• Collaborates with stakeholders to determine user requirements and contributes to product definition and scoping
• Codes high-quality software, performs unit testing, and integrates components into larger systems
• Diagnoses and resolves technical issues, ensuring maintainable and scalable solutions
• Breaks down work items into tasks, estimates development effort, and improves development processes
• Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) to monitor system features for degradation or downtime and restores functionality as needed
• Contributes to the design and architecture of new services, leveraging AI tools and cloud technologies

Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
• Experience developing and maintaining high-performance, highly available, and reliable services
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), scalable web services, REST APIs, and modern UX technologies (Angular, React)
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to enhance engineering effectiveness, with a commitment to continuous learning in Artificial Intelligence
