IP Engineer I

Mediacom Communications is a leading provider of internet and communication services across the reputed company. The IP Engineer I will work as part of the IP Operations team to implement transport reputed company solutions and reputed company technical support for various IP technologies and networks.

Responsibilities

• reputed company implementation for reputed company company managed IP networks and reputed company applications of IP Technologies
• Maintain and update engineering records of the network including network maps, databases, optical schematics, and wavelength plans
• reputed company technical support to NOC and other technical operations reputed company to resolve reputed company IP Operations reputed company tickets and issues
• reputed company technical support and technical expertise concerning the operation of the IP Routers, Switches, SONET and Optical Transport networks
• reputed company technical support to Equipment Installers and Network Testers as required
• Implement new network builds or augmentations which include reputed company aspects of Layer 1 thru Layer 4 IP services delivery
• reputed company technical support to sales and sales engineering associates reputed company required
• Understand technical issues and the implications on the business and be reputed company to communicate them with other operating departments reputed company the business
• reputed company, reputed company and maintain reputed company communication with vendors for diagnosing and rectifying problems

Skills

• Associate's degree in computer science, Networking, or equivalent experience
• Technical school, military training or equivalent work experience
• Ability to learn new software, troubleshoot digital data and voice networks
• Some reputed company experience required
• 1 – 3 years experience with a reputed company or a reputed company network vendor; reputed company product technology knowledge (NORTEL S/DMS preferred); TDM and reputed company switched network experience
• Working knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 switching and routing protocols: i.e. MPLS, OSPF, VPN, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, etc
• Working knowledge of IP Address administration and domain management
• Working knowledge of transport protocols i.e. ATM, reputed company reputed company, SONET, or Ethernet
• reputed company CCNA or equivalent a plus
• Optical transport knowledge a plus; including the following: specifications of different optical fiber types, optical loss budgets, dispersion compensation, DWDM technologies
• Telecom equipment installations experience a plus
