Associate - Salesforce Developer
New York Life Insurance Company is a Fortune 100 mutual company with a legacy of purpose and integrity. They are seeking a Salesforce Developer to support their Salesforce Portfolio, focusing on the design, development, and implementation of Salesforce solutions that align with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and customization of Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and other Salesforce technologies
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software to meet business needs using a range of front-end and back-end technologies and stacks
- Collaborate with senior developers and stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements
- Participate in the design and implementation of Salesforce solutions that meet business needs
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the Salesforce environment, ensuring optimal performance and user experience
- Streamline the software development lifecycle by identifying and resolving pain points and productivity barriers
- Support ongoing maintenance and updates to existing Salesforce applications. Continually improve products, services, and solutions through automation, risk mitigation, and other best practices
- Participate in the evaluation and enhancement of existing application architectures and infrastructure
- Create and maintain documentation and artifacts to capture the current state of applications and systems
- Stay updated on the latest Salesforce features and best practices to enhance system functionality. Learn and apply new technologies as needed to develop business solutions, staying abreast of new trends
- Promote a collaborative team environment, working closely with colleagues to achieve business objectives
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study is required
- 1-2 years of experience in Salesforce development or administration
- Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, and Salesforce Lightning
- Basic understanding of Salesforce data model, security, and sharing rules
- Familiarity with Salesforce integration tools such as REST/SOAP APIs
- Experience with declarative development tools like Flow
- Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Salesforce Administrator or Platform Developer I certification is a plus
- Lightning Web Components is a plus
