The role involves directing the development process, overseeing technical staff, and ensuring applications meet user needs and comply with security standards.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement applications for computer systems, ensuring they meet user expectations and company standards
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including business analysts, developers, and project managers, to gather requirements and ensure the application meets user needs
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure maintainability and scalability of the application and oversee the development process to adhere to best practices
  • Evaluate and implement software integrations, ensuring applications can scale effectively and perform optimally under varying loads
  • Ensure that applications comply with security standards and data privacy regulations, protecting against potential vulnerabilities
  • Provide guidance and support to development teams, helping them understand architectural principles and best practices
  • Review existing system architectures and suggest improvements or alternatives
  • Identify and resolve any application and data issues
  • Monitor and manage the regular updates and upgrades of the software applications
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills

  • 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • 4-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • 8 or more years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#), software design patterns, and system architectures (e.g., microservices, service-oriented architecture)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their architectural principles
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze systems and procedures
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field
  • Previous experience in software development and architecture, with a proven track record of successful application design and implementation
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work independently
