We focus on empowering team members, stores, and traders with cutting-edge solutions that drive business growth and improve customer experiences. Our areas of focus include: * Customers: Understanding customer behavior, preferences, and needs to develop targeted marketing campaigns and personalized experiences. * Stores: Optimizing store operations, inventory management, and supply chain logistics to improve efficiency and reduce costs. * Employees: Developing data-driven insights to enhance employee engagement, training, and development programs. * In-store services: Improving the shopping experience through data-driven insights on product placement, pricing, and promotions. * Supplier data science: Analyzing supplier data to optimize procurement processes, reduce costs, and improve supplier relationships. * Search and personalization: Developing data-driven solutions to improve search functionality, product recommendations, and personalized experiences. **Job Responsibilities** As a Staff Data Scientist, you will be responsible for: * Identifying and extracting relevant data sources to support business decisions and drive growth. * Formulating business problems and developing data-driven solutions to address them. * Developing and deploying machine learning models to improve business outcomes and customer experiences. * Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven insights into business processes and decision-making. * Mentoring junior team members and promoting data-driven culture within the organization. * Staying up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data science and machine learning. **Key Responsibilities:** * Data Source Identification: + Understands the concerned order of necessities and service level agreements. + Defines and identifies the most appropriate reasserts for required data that is fit for purpose, regarding external assets as required. + Performs preliminary data quality tests on the extracted data. + Reviews the deliverables of junior team members and provides guidance. * Problem Formulation: + Analyzes the business problem within one's area of expertise and questions assumptions to help the business perceive the root cause. + Identifies and recommends methods to solve the business problem. + Sets data analytics, big data analytics, automation goals, and deliverables based on the setup achievement standards and outlines key metrics to measure progress and effectiveness of the solution. + Quantifies business impact. * Analytical Modeling: + Selects suitable modeling strategies for complex problems with large scale, multiple established and unstructured data sets. + Selects and develops variables and functions iteratively based on model responses in collaboration with the business. + Conducts exploratory data analysis activities (e.g., basic statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, statistical inferences) on to-be-had data. + Identifies dimensions and designs of experiments and creates test and research frameworks. + Interprets data to identify trends to move across future data sets. + Creates continuous, online learning including iterative model enhancements. + Develops newer strategies (e.g., advanced machine learning algorithms, vehicle mobile ML) through leveraging the latest developments in machine learning, artificial intelligence to teach algorithms to use models to new data sets. + Guides the team on feature engineering, experimentation, and advanced modeling strategies for use for complex problems with unstructured and multiple data sets (e.g., streaming data, raw text data). * Model Deployment & Scaling: + Ability to work with MLOps to push ML models to production. + Continuously logs and tracks model behavior once it's deployed against the described metrics. + Identifies model parameters which may need adjustments relying on scale of deployment. * Code Development & Testing: + Writes code to develop the specified solution and application capabilities by identifying the right programming language and leveraging business, technical, and data requirements. + Creates test cases to learn and validate the proposed solution design. + Creates proofs of concept. + Tests the code using the right testing method. + Contributes code documentation, maintains playbooks, and provides timely development updates. * Applied Business Acumen: + Evaluates proposed business cases for projects and initiatives. + Influences business stakeholder decision-making. + Translates business requirements into strategies, projects, and initiatives and aligns them to business method and goals and drives the execution of deliverables. + Builds and articulates the business case and goes back on investment and grants work that has demonstrable value. + Challenges business assumptions on subjects related to one's area of expertise. + Develops new organization-wide approaches and practices to working. + Teaches and trains others on best practices. + Proactively engages in the external network to build arenaflex's brand and research more about business practices. * Model Assessment & Validation: + Identifies and reviews model assessment metrics based on analytical requirements. + Applies appropriate strategies for model testing and tuning, to evaluate accuracy, fit, validity, and robustness. + Ensures testing data is documented and maintained by the team. * Data Visualization and Storyteller: + Identifies and recommends the most appropriate visualization tools based on context. + Generates suitable graphical representations of data and model outcomes. + Understands customer requirements to design suitable data representation for complex data sets and drive User Experience designers and User Interface engineers to build the front-end applications. + Defines application layout based on customer requirements. + Builds compelling stories based on context to combine multiple pieces of data into cohesive insights. + Presents to and impacts various audiences using the right frameworks and conveys clear messages through deep business and stakeholder knowledge. + Customizes communication style based on stakeholders and leverages relationships to drive behavioral change. + Guides and mentors junior team members on story types, structures, and strategies based on context. **Requirements** * Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. * 4 years of experience in an analytics-related field. * Deep knowledge and understanding of machine learning, statistics, data science in general. * Strong programming skills in at least one of Python/R. * Ability to execute projects end-to-end including junior team members. * Implement best practices in ML Ops, coding standards, etc. * Clearly communicate with business, product, and application partners. * Ability to translate complex algorithm evaluations in simple language. * Ability to present to management along with outside clients. **Benefits** *
