**The Spotted Lanternfly Response Team**
The Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) is an invasive insect that has been detected in several areas of the country, causing significant economic and environmental impacts. As a member of the Arenaflex Spotted Lanternfly Response Team, you will play a critical role in helping to mitigate the effects of this invasive species. You will work closely with a diverse team of experts, including faculty, extension educators, and researchers, to provide exceptional customer service to the public, respond to inquiries and concerns, and assist in the development of educational resources and materials.
**Key Responsibilities**
As a Part-Time Customer Service Representative on the Arenaflex Spotted Lanternfly Response Team, you will be responsible for:
* Maintaining the overall operation and professional image of the customer-focused call center
* Serving as the first-line point of contact for external stakeholders interested in reporting a Spotted Lanternfly sighting and/or seeking additional information and resources
* Responding to customer questions and/or needs, providing appropriate responses/services for the situation, and referring to other departments/unit(s) when necessary
* Corresponding with a diverse customer base by phone, video conference, email, or regular mail
* Investigating unusual situations or concerns and assisting in problem resolution
* Operating various equipment and computer systems, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
* Assisting with required reporting with the Arenaflex SLF team, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, and/or United States Department of Agriculture
* Ensuring the quality of all call center services
**Essential Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a strong preference for proficiency in Spanish
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and clientele
* The ability to work as an active member of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and customer service
* Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet the expectations of concerned citizens
* A willingness to develop working-level knowledge of the Spotted Lanternfly and its impacts on the environment and economy
**Preferred Qualifications**
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
* Experience in customer service, call center, sales, client management, information technology, or a related field
* Familiarity with basic entomology and the impacts of invasive species on the environment and economy
* Experience working with diverse populations and communities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
