As the owner of SpyAssociates.com, I'm looking to hire an experienced Affiliate Marketing Manager (freelance/part-time to start, with potential for ongoing work) to revamp and scale our affiliate program. Our current setup on Partnerize (formerly Pepperjam) has underperformed—limited recruitment, outdated tools, and stagnant growth in our niche of spy gear, hidden cameras, surveillance equipment, GPS trackers, and personal security gadgets. We're actively evaluating a switch to a more modern platform like Impact.com (primary target for its advanced attribution, influencer tools, and ecommerce growth features), while considering a secondary network potentially Awin/ShareASale) to run multiple programs simultaneously and capture more traffic from bloggers, YouTube reviewers, tech sites, and coupon/deal affiliates. Project Overview We need you to take ownership of our affiliate program end-to-end: strategy, migration (if switching networks), recruitment, optimization, and performance tracking. The goal is aggressive growth—aiming for 2-3x increase in affiliate-driven revenue within 6-12 months by attracting high-quality partners in the security/spy niche. Key Responsibilities Research and recommend the best affiliate network/platform(s) for our niche (e.g., compare Impact.com, Awin; factor in migration from Partnerize, costs, tools, and competitor usage). Handle full migration/setup if we switch platforms, including data transfer, tracking pixel implementation, product feed integration (we're on Shopify), and testing. Develop and implement a growth strategy: tiered commissions (e.g., starting at 8-10%, scaling to 9-12% for top performers), bonus incentives, custom creatives, and cookie lengths competitive with rivals (target 45-60+ days to match or beat competitors like The Home Security Superstore's 60-day/9% or BrickHouse Security's 30-day/4%). Actively recruit affiliates: outreach to bloggers, influencers (YouTube/TikTok security reviewers), content sites, deal sites, and niche publishers; use network discovery tools and manual prospecting. Manage day-to-day operations: approve/reject applications, negotiate deals, monitor compliance (no PPC restrictions issues, fraud detection), resolve disputes, and handle payouts. Optimize performance: analyze attribution reports, identify top performers, prune underperformers, run promotions/campaigns, and provide monthly reports on traffic, conversions, EPC, ROI, etc. Benchmark against competitors (e.g., BrickHouse Security on CJ/FlexOffers ~4% commission/30-day cookie; The Home Security Superstore in-house/Awin 9%/60-day cookie) and suggest ways to outcompete them (higher rates for volume, better tools, exclusive spy gear deals). Required Skills & Experience Proven track record managing affiliate programs for ecommerce/DTC brands (ideally in tech, gadgets, security, or similar niches). Hands-on experience with major networks: Impact.com, CJ Affiliate, Awin/ShareASale, FlexOffers, or similar (bonus if you've migrated from Partnerize/Pepperjam). Strong knowledge of affiliate tracking, attribution models (multi-touch preferred), cookie management, fraud prevention, and Shopify integrations. Excellent outreach/recruitment skills—comfortable cold emailing/DMing potential affiliates and building relationships. Analytical mindset: proficient in Google Analytics, affiliate dashboards, Excel for reporting, and tools like Ahrefs or SimilarWeb for competitor/affiliate research. Familiarity with spy gear/security niche a plus (understanding of hidden cameras, GPS, surveillance trends). Strong written communication for affiliate newsletters, promo creatives, and reports.
