At arenaflex, we blend the agility of a fast‑moving startup with the deep resources of a global industry leader. Our mission is to become the #1 brand in sports hydration, delivering innovative, performance‑driven beverages that empower athletes and active lifestyles. As a dynamic, purpose‑driven organization, we champion a culture of curiosity, empowerment, inclusivity, and agility. If you thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where bold ideas are celebrated and impact is measured in market share and consumer smiles, this is the place for you.

Why This Role Matters

The Senior Director of Customer Sales – South Region is a pivotal leadership position overseeing a high‑performing team that drives revenue, volume, and share across our most strategic retail partners in the southeastern United States. You will own the full sales cycle—from annual planning and negotiation to execution and performance analytics—ensuring that arenaflex’s flagship brands dominate shelf space, pricing, and consumer mindshare.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Customer Development

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a cross‑functional team responsible for top‑tier accounts including major grocery chains and specialized distributors.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive annual business plans that align with arenaflex’s corporate objectives, balancing short‑term revenue targets with long‑term brand growth.
  • Negotiate multi‑year partnership agreements, trade spend allocations, and T&E budgets that protect profitability while fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Own the end‑to‑end customer selling story—assortment, shelving, pricing, merchandising, and innovation rollout—translating data‑driven insights into tangible shelf impact.
  • Maintain rigor in contract administration, new item approvals, and compliance documentation to ensure seamless operations.

System Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Participate actively in arenaflex’s system routines (CCLT, Customer Core Teams) to share plan performance, gaps, and corrective actions.
  • Partner with arenaflex’s national sales organization and bottler network to synchronize goals, share best practices, and maximize joint execution.
  • Provide ongoing market intelligence to the broader commercial, marketing, and innovation teams, ensuring a unified approach to product launches and promotional calendars.

Organizational Development & Talent Management

  • Coach, develop, and empower direct reports and their extended teams, fostering a high‑performance culture grounded in continuous learning.
  • Leverage arenaflex’s analytics resources—including Nielsen, IRI, and internal BI tools—to surface actionable insights that guide strategy.
  • Manage the regional T&E budget responsibly, aligning spend with strategic priorities and ROI targets.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of direct sales leadership in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector, with a proven record of winning business with national and regional accounts.
  • Demonstrated success selling into major grocery and specialty distributors (e.g., large supermarket chains and the specialty equipment group (SEG) channel).
  • Hands‑on experience with DSD beverage models is highly preferred.
  • Established network of buyer and divisional manager contacts within the targeted accounts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and strong analytical capabilities with Nielsen/IRI data.
  • Advanced data‑visualization and analytics skills (Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, SQL) to build compelling selling stories.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (30‑50% of time) and hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Attributes & Skills

  • Strategic thinker with a track record of turning market insights into revenue‑generating actions.
  • Exceptional communicator—able to influence senior stakeholders across sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; self‑motivated, organized, and results‑driven.
  • Passion for brand building, product innovation, and long‑term growth.
  • Experience with digital advertising, social media, and modern demand‑generation tactics.

Compensation, Benefits & Perks

arenaflex offers a competitive total rewards package designed to attract and retain top talent:

  • Base salary ranging from $169,000 to $196,000, commensurate with experience and geographic location.
  • Targeted annual incentive of 30% of base salary, with performance metrics tied to revenue, trade spend efficiency, and strategic partnership outcomes.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match and financial wellness resources.
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO), holidays, and flexible work arrangements to support work‑life balance.
  • Professional development budget, tuition reimbursement, and access to industry conferences.
  • Employee assistance programs, wellness initiatives, and a vibrant, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Relocation assistance available for eligible candidates and a company‑provided vehicle allowance for high‑travel roles.
