JOB DESCRIPTION Are you considering transitioning from your current entry-level position in Criminal Justice to becoming a Digital Reporter? In this role, you'll oversee civil litigation proceedings and use digital tools to record all content, including witness testimonies. The Digital Reporter is responsible for: • Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record. • Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling State Notary duties. • Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation. • Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription. • Conducting in-depth research and verifying information from various sources. • Utilizing digital databases and online research tools proficiently. REQUIREMENTS • State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it • Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states) • Familiarity with or willingness to learn about U.S. civil procedures • Possess or be willing to acquire digital reporting equipment • Comfortable moderating live legal proceedings • Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing • Strong technology skills, especially in typing • Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and appearance • Willingness to work as an independent contractor • Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required • Willing to work both remotely and in person ADVERTISEMENT Digital Reporting is a fast-growing profession in great demand.
