[Remote] Endpoint Security Agent Engineer - Rust / C++ Windows

Request Technology, LLC is focused on delivering innovative security solutions, and they are seeking an Endpoint Security Agent Engineer to help build and evolve systems that power their endpoint agents. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable cross-platform systems primarily in Rust, ensuring secure communication and performance across different operating systems. Responsibilities • Core Agent Platform Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable, cross-platform systems and services—primarily in Rust—that support endpoint tooling, secure bi-directional agent–cloud communication, and enterprise alerting capabilities. Contribute to components across their lifecycle, with a focus on implementation, reliability, and performance in real-world customer environments • Cross-Platform Code Contribution: Work with multi-platform logic in Rust while ensuring compatibility and optimal performance across different operating systems and architectures • Debugging & Optimization: Use logs, debuggers, and profiling tools to analyze performance, diagnose issues, and ensure correct behavior across all supported platforms • Test & Maintain Code Quality: Write unit and integration tests for your code, adhering to consistent coding style guidelines and overall product architecture • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with other developers and teams to ensure the component integrates well within the overall product architecture and maintains interoperability across platforms Skills • 5 years minimum development background in security/endpoint environment • 3 years minimum Rust experience to extract data from the agent platform and develop features to the cloud that power the endpoint agents • Strong Windows APIs knowledge • Ability to develop high-quality, production-ready code in Rust • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks from design through delivery • Experience or familiarity with Windows, Linux and/or macOS APIs • Knowledge and experience with the following Rust crates: threading, async, tokio • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Experience developing production systems in Python • Experience with system-level programming and OS internals • Familiarity with SQL • Knowledge of additional languages (C++) • Knowledge of the Linux, macOS, or Windows kernel • Knowledge of endpoint security concepts and threat detection Benefits • 10% bonus • Pre IPO stock Company Overview • With over 39 years of experience, Request Technology, LLC, formerly Quest Enterprises, Inc., is an established entrepreneurial executive search firm that specializes in recruiting Information Technology professionals for organizations throughout the United States.
