This is a remote position.

We are looking for a skilled Accountant who can take ownership of end-to-end accounting functions across multiple business entities. This role offers the opportunity to work with Xero while managing payroll, reconciliations, and preparing accurate financial reports that drive business decisions. You’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and supporting timely, high-quality reporting. Job Responsibilities:

1) Financial Recording & General Ledger
• Accurately record weekly financial transactions in Xero Accounting via manual
journals.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure integrity.
• Process journal entries and support month-end closing activities.

2) Accounts Payable & Creditor Management
• Process and ensure timely payment of all creditor invoices.
• Monitor and reconcile AP accounts with bank statements.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in supplier accounts.

3) Payroll Management
• Manage payroll for multiple entities, including preparation of weekly payroll reports
for approval.
• Record payroll transactions and generate banking files for CFO authorization.
• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and deadlines.

4) Bank Reconciliations & Cash Management
• Perform regular bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
• Monitor cash flow and escalate anomalies promptly.

5) Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare accurate Profit & Loss statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review and analyze financial performance to support decision-making.
• Deliver timely monthly and periodic financial reports.

6) Asset & Capital Expenditure Management
• Maintain asset registers, including creation, depreciation, and disposal of assets.
• Track and report on capital expenditure projects.

7) Compliance & Governance
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.
• Maintain documentation and update SOPs for finance processes.

8) Cross-Functional Support
• Collaborate with operations and client teams for financial queries.
• Assist with audits, budgeting, and other ad hoc finance tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA or CMA certification (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of Australian accounting experience.
  • Strong background in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Xero experience
    preferred).
  • Payroll management experience.
  • ERP experience (Epico preferred; SAP or MYOB acceptable).
  • Manufacturing industry experience (preferred but not mandatory).
