Millwork Draftsman - AutoCAD

Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Millwork Draftsman specializing in AutoCAD to join our dynamic design team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise, detailed millwork drawings that bring architectural visions to life. Your expertise will support the seamless transition from conceptual design to construction-ready plans, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. Duties • Develop comprehensive millwork drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring all specifications meet project requirements and industry standards. • Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and project managers to interpret design concepts into detailed schematics and layouts. • Utilize additional CAD software such as SketchUp, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, or SolidWorks as needed to enhance design precision and visualization. • Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication details, and assembly instructions for manufacturing teams. • Incorporate technical elements like mechanical systems, graphic design components, and interior design features into drafting projects. • Review and revise drawings based on client feedback, site conditions, or updated project specifications. • Maintain organized records of all drafting files, revisions, and project documentation for seamless project execution. Qualifications • Proven experience in drafting millwork or cabinetry using AutoCAD; familiarity with SketchUp, Revit, ArchiCAD, Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros 3D), Grasshopper 3D, MicroStation or SolidWorks is highly desirable. • Strong knowledge of construction processes, schematic development, and system design principles. • Skilled in interpreting architectural plans, schematics, and technical specifications with attention to detail. • Proficiency in using CAD software for 2D drafting and 3D modeling; experience with Bluebeam for PDF markup is a plus. • Background in interior design, mechanical design or graphic design enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive drafts. • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
