**Experienced Crisis Specialist – 988 Chat/Text Crisis Support**

We're seeking an experienced Crisis Specialist to join our dynamic team, working remotely from the United States, Tennessee (USA). This is a full-time position, available on a 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team. As a Crisis Specialist, you'll handle incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988, providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress.
**Job Summary:**
* Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments
* Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources
* Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
* Meet the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation
* Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
* Assist in administrative tasks as needed
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals in emotional distress
* Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop safety plans
* Collaborate with community resources to provide service linkage and referrals
* Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
* Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment
**Essential Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
* Six months to one year of related crisis experience
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention principles
* Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist or equivalent experience
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Master's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
* Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with mental health conditions
* Knowledge of community resources and service linkage options
* Bilingual or multilingual skills
* Experience with crisis management software and technology
