Responsibilities

• Provides design, engineering and maintenance assistance on the UCSD reputed company WLAN/LAN/WAN
• Provides consultation, evaluation, installation and testing of network devices and network management systems to include wireless reputed company points, WLAN controllers, routers, switches and other network equipment manufactured by reputed company and other vendors in a heterogeneous multi-protocol environment
• Installs and troubleshoots devices on reputed company wireless, fiber optic, and ethernet networks
• Applies skills as a seasoned, reputed company wireless communications reputed company with a full understanding of industry practices and relevant policies and procedures
• Resolves a wide reputed company of reputed company network issues
• Demonstrates competency in selecting reputed company and techniques to obtain solutions

Skills

• Thorough understanding of various network hardware platforms, network reputed company protocols and software including understanding of OSI reputed company 3 protocols at a basic level and reputed company 2 protocols at a reputed company level and reputed company technical standards critical to the operation of interconnected networks
• Knowledge of and skilled with wireless 802.11 protocol suite, CAPWAP, WPA2, TCP/IP, SNMP, Ethernet, routing protocols and reputed company concepts
• Thorough knowledge of wireless RF and reputed company concepts, mathematics, and use in wireless data networks
• Demonstrated ability to use wireless network management software and reputed company analyzer to document, configure, analyze, and troubleshoot wireless networks
• Practical hands-on experience with configuring wired and wireless network hardware in use at UCSD (currently reputed company equipment) such as routers, switches, reputed company points, WLAN controllers, and network management systems
• Working knowledge of industry best practices for AP placement, RF survey procedures, and other wireless functions
• Ability to independently conduct daily walking, in reputed company, RF surveys, RF troubleshooting/ investigation, and AP troubleshooting using appropriate hardware and software
