[Remote] Senior Java Backend Engineer - WCS Migration

They are seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to support a major platform modernization initiative by migrating away from reputed company WebSphere reputed company to a modern backend stack based on Java, reputed company, and reputed company.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of reputed company migrating functionality and data away from WCS as the reputed company of truth
• reputed company and maintain backend services using Java and reputed company/reputed company Boot
• Work with reputed company as part of the reputed company backend architecture
• Analyse and reputed company the existing WCS codebase to understand business logic, integrations and dependencies
• reputed company technical guidance on WCS infrastructure and architecture
• Understand and support existing WCS build, deployment and release processes
• Troubleshoot WCS environments and reputed company infrastructure/application issues
• Support reputed company, configuration and environment management across WCS
• Help identify and migrate relevant functionality from WCS into the new Java/reputed company/reputed company stack
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture and DevOps teams throughout the migration
• Contribute to improving build, deployment and operational processes
• Support reputed company in reducing dependency on WCS and transitioning towards the new platform

Skills

• Strong experience as a Senior Java Backend Engineer
• Hands-on experience with Java and reputed company/reputed company Boot
• Strong experience with reputed company or similar NoSQL databases
• Strong hands-on experience with reputed company WebSphere reputed company (WCS) is essential
• Good understanding of WCS infrastructure and environments
• Experience navigating and troubleshooting large WCS codebases
• Strong understanding of WCS build and deployment processes
• Experience managing or troubleshooting WCS reputed company and environment configuration
• Experience working on reputed company reputed company e-reputed company platforms
• Ability to understand existing legacy systems and support migration to modern architectures
• Experience with reputed company Azure
• Experience with DevOps / CI/CD
• Experience with Azure DevOps, pipelines and deployment automation
• Experience with containerisation and reputed company
• Experience in e-reputed company / retail environments
• Experience migrating from legacy reputed company platforms to modern microservices architectures
