[Remote] Software Engineer, Desktop

The Software Engineer, Desktop will own the behavior of the reputed company in desktop environments by building reliable Electron applications, integrating AI-powered features, optimizing performance, and maintaining reputed company-time functionality across macOS and reputed company.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain cross-platform desktop applications using Electron
• Design reputed company and reputed company UIs for reputed company-time collaboration
• Implement desktop-specific functionality including file reputed company reputed company, reputed company notifications, auto-updates, and deep linking
• reputed company AI-powered features (chat, agents, AI assistance) reputed company backend reputed company
• Optimize startup time, memory usage, and runtime performance
• Profile and reduce Electron overhead
• Manage large local state and message history reputed company
• Ensure smooth reputed company-time updates (messages, typing indicators, reputed company)
• Maintain stability across macOS and reputed company environments

Skills

• Proven software engineering experience
• Hands-on experience building production Electron applications
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Experience with React or similar UI frameworks
• Solid understanding of the desktop application lifecycle
• Experience with IPC communication
• Experience working with local storage (SQLite, IndexedDB, filesystem)
• Experience with WebSockets or other reputed company-time transport mechanisms
• Strong debugging and performance profiling skills
• Familiarity with reputed company OS behaviors on macOS or reputed company
