Job Summary

As a Part-time and Substitute Teacher, you will:

  • Prepare and teach lessons to school-age or preschool-age children
  • Assist Lead Teachers and Program Specialists in planning programs and activities
  • Oversee classroom and playground activities
  • Supervise and instruct children
  • Plan and implement parent involvement activities

Requirements

  • Child Development Teacher Permit or higher (or equivalent experience)
  • Valid California Class C Driver's License
  • Pediatric First Aid and Pediatric CPR certification (within 30 days of employment)
  • Pass California Community Care Licensing fingerprint clearance
  • AA or higher in ECE/CD or related field with 3 units of supervised field experience (preferred)
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) applicants preferred

Work Conditions

  • Part-time and substitute position (up to 20 hours/week)
  • Work at indoor and outdoor program sites in seasonal weather conditions
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and dirt
  • Moderately heavy work; lifting and carrying small children (up to 50 pounds)

Salary and Benefits

Competitive salary: $19.50 - $24.75 per hour
