Job Summary

The Director of Risk Management and Business Strategy will be responsible for analyzing structured and unstructured data, interpreting information using statistical, financial, AI, or business intelligence methods, and collaborating with technology and other groups on the integration and implementation of risk management approaches and business procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, data analysis, and business strategy, with excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions and risk management strategies
  • Develop and implement risk management approaches and business procedures, leveraging industry best practices and regulatory feedback
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, business, and non-technical groups, to drive business process improvements and risk management solutions
  • Identify and assess new data sources (structured and unstructured) that could add significant value to blithequark's products and services
  • Utilize MS Excel for financial and data reporting and modeling, and proficiency in Data bricks, Python, R, SAS, SQL, Tableau, Terawatt, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Unix
  • Drive business change, reengineer systems, and lead project management initiatives to achieve business objectives
  • Communicate complex analysis and insights to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership and stakeholders

Essential Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Finance, Statistics, Math, Econometrics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in risk management, data analysis, and business strategy, with a strong understanding of financial markets, products, and services
  • Proven experience in working with technical, scientific, business, and non-technical teams, with excellent communication and project management skills
  • Experience with cost-benefit analyses, business process improvement techniques, and project management methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and communicate insights effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a related field, such as a Ph.D. or MBA
  • Professional certifications, such as FRM, CFA, or CFP
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency in additional programming languages, such as Java or C++
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure
