Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Custom Circuits Design Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our silicon design group, you will play a critical role in designing advanced custom digital megacells, including SRAM memories, on-chip sensors, and ML accelerators, utilized in high-performance/low power System-on-Chip (SOC) designs. Your expertise and passion for innovative circuit design will be essential in driving the development of groundbreaking products that exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom circuits to improve chip power efficiency, working closely with the power team, PD, and designers to define specifications and requirements.
  • Perform design, analysis, modeling/simulation, circuit-level specifications, schematic capture, spice simulation/verification across PVT, statistical design, functional verification, and silicon bring-up.
  • Collaborate with the layout team to complete the design and oversee the layout quality, ensuring the highest design quality metrics are achieved.
  • Develop and drive circuit methodologies to achieve the highest design quality metrics, leveraging industry-standard circuit and design tools.
  • Conduct experiments during silicon debug, manufacturing, and analyzing data, utilizing scripting to support efficient processing of ATE data.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering) and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven experience in designing low-voltage/low-power custom circuits, with a deep understanding of deep submicron device physics, leakage mechanisms, and technology interactions with device behavior.
  • Strong comprehension of device integration, device noise sources (1/f, thermal), external noise sources (supply, jitter), and their impact on high-precision circuits.
  • Familiarity with asynchronous message verification and social models for asynchronous message blocks.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python/Perl or others) and CAD automation tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: AI accelerators, SRAM circuits, non-volatile memories, weak/moderate inversion circuits, super low-power amplifiers, DC/DC converters, digital on-chip sensors, high-speed timing, and time-to-digital converters (TDCs).
  • Knowledge of industry-standard circuit and design tools, with a strong understanding of circuit design principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and drive results-oriented projects.
