Job Overview and Responsibilities As a Senior UI/UX Designer on our Customer Platform team, you will play a critical role in designing omni-channel commerce products and experiences around order fulfillment. Your primary focus will be on innovating and developing approaches for clients to complete and receive their purchases via pickup and delivery. You will be responsible for setting the vision for the best customer experience and creating a space for cross-functional colleagues to collaborate. Your expertise in design thinking will enable you to facilitate conversations, create concepts, run design sprints, and build rapid prototypes to leverage collective creativity. Designing at the highest level of craft for a broad population of Walmart customers Leading a program of work and collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional partners through delivery Creating the experience strategy and setting the design direction for the program that delivers on customer needs and business objectives Actively soliciting feedback from peers and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the product design lifecycle Engaging the design research team at the right points during the design process to ensure the right insights inform the work Rapid prototyping and experimenting in a fast-paced environment Multitasking across different projects and adapting to changing priorities Creating scalable reports in partnership with our design system team Working with our design system team to expand the component library Championing the design thinking philosophy throughout the organization Communicating effectively with kindness and empathy Participating seamlessly with cross-functional partners Staying up-to-date with the latest trends, inside and outside of retail Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong design aesthetic that brings together brand expressions and systems thinking. You should have a demonstrable track record of working cross-functionally with shipping successful products in a fast-paced environment and thrive in an ever-changing setting. Your strategic attitude and system thinking approach will enable you to take complex problems and make them simple. You should be able to produce outstanding work in short timeframes, multi-task across different projects and systems, and adapt to the ever-changing priorities of the business. A degree in HCI, information architecture, digital design, or a related field, and at least 3-5 years of experience in product design A strong portfolio of stylish design solutions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience facilitating design thinking in cross-functional teams Comfort with ambiguity and ability to motivate teams and partners A self-starter mindset who is well-organized and always looking to improve things Preferred Qualifications and Skills In addition to the essential qualifications, we prefer candidates with a design certification (e.g., IDEO - Foundations in Design Thinking certificate), driving product development in a user experience space, a master's degree in UI/UX design, interactive and visual design, product design, or a related area, and related industry experience (e.g., retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare).
