Geotechnical Engineer

Campos EPC is an established Industry Leader in the Utility, Energy and Midstream sectors, delivering engineering design and consulting services. They are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer I and II to design and execute geotechnical projects, perform field explorations, and analyze geotechnical data.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess potential mitigation options for geohazards including seismic analysis, karst evaluation, etc
• Plan and conduct geotechnical explorations. Perform appropriate calculations for the design of foundations, retaining walls, horizontal directional drills, and slope stability
• Assist in developing proposals and determine cost and schedule for investigations
• Provide direction to technical team in field inspection activities
• Interact with customers and team members to complete the assigned project on-time
• Assist Program Manager in design and evaluation of construction documents and projects
• Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects
• Review and approve geotechnical designs developed by outside consultants
• Review construction design proposals and approve geotechnical aspects
• Evaluate team performance and determine training needs to meet performance objectives

Skills

• Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
• BS in Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering or related field
• Knowledge and understanding of industry codes and standards
• FE required, PE highly preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and critical thinking skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities is important
• Time management and organizational skills and the ability to deal effectively with stressful situations
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail important
• Proficiency with applicable software applications
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including internal resources and clients
• This is a great opportunity for recent grads with no experience or some experience
• Experience on engineering, procurement, and construction projects desirable
• Bachelor's (Preferred)
