Geotechnical Engineer
Campos EPC is an established Industry Leader in the Utility, Energy and Midstream sectors, delivering engineering design and consulting services. They are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer I and II to design and execute geotechnical projects, perform field explorations, and analyze geotechnical data.
Responsibilities
- Perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess potential mitigation options for geohazards including seismic analysis, karst evaluation, etc
- Plan and conduct geotechnical explorations. Perform appropriate calculations for the design of foundations, retaining walls, horizontal directional drills, and slope stability
- Assist in developing proposals and determine cost and schedule for investigations
- Provide direction to technical team in field inspection activities
- Interact with customers and team members to complete the assigned project on-time
- Assist Program Manager in design and evaluation of construction documents and projects
- Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects
- Review and approve geotechnical designs developed by outside consultants
- Review construction design proposals and approve geotechnical aspects
- Evaluate team performance and determine training needs to meet performance objectives
Skills
- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
- BS in Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering or related field
- Knowledge and understanding of industry codes and standards
- FE required, PE highly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and critical thinking skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities is important
- Time management and organizational skills and the ability to deal effectively with stressful situations
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail important
- Proficiency with applicable software applications
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including internal resources and clients
- This is a great opportunity for recent grads with no experience or some experience
- Experience on engineering, procurement, and construction projects desirable
