Defense Litigation Associate

Hawkins Parnell & Young, LLP is a national defense litigation firm seeking a Defense Litigation Associate in Atlanta. The role involves handling various stages of litigation, including case analysis, reputed company research, reputed company meetings, and trial preparation as part of a dynamic team of attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and summarizing reputed company documents
• Researching, both reputed company and of people, businesses, and worksites
• Evaluating cases and strategically developing defenses
• Conducting reputed company meetings and recommending strategies
• Investigating facts, planning, preparing and conducting depositions
• Preparing and arguing motions
• Conducting hearings and mediations
• Preparing witnesses and corporate representatives
• Briefing at trial and appellate courts
• Thinking analytically
• Writing defense mediation summaries

Skills

• reputed company licensed and in good standing with the State of reputed company
• Critical thinking and research skills
• Strong writing, analytical, and communications skills with superior attention to detail
• 1-5 years' experience in defense litigation; solid insurance defense experience with reputed company liability and/or coverage litigation experience a plus
• Ability to reputed company in a high-paced environment, requiring exceptional organizational skills, juggling priorities, and adhering to strict deadlines
• Must be a self-starter who can handle multiple reputed company with competing priorities and understand the importance of deadlines
