Tax Analyst
Latham & Watkins is a global law firm consistently ranked among the top firms in the world. The Tax Analyst will be responsible for preparing income tax return schedules, analyzing data from the Accounting & Finance Department, and supporting the Global Tax team with compliance work. This role is located in Downtown Los Angeles.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in coordinating the process of providing information to external tax accountants with respect to the preparation of the U.S. federal and state partnership tax returns and international tax filings
- Working with the Senior Tax Analysts to prepare certain general ledger analyses and perform quality assurance procedures
- Calculating and preparing the partners’ U.S. and international tax calculations
- Assisting with maintaining a compliance schedule of all U.S. federal, state, and international tax returns
- Assisting with any projects needed by the Global Tax Department or staff
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
Skills
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or working progress toward CPA license, preferably
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in public accounting at a multi-office professional services organization, preferably
- Experience with preparing U.S. federal and state partnership income tax returns, preferably
- Exhibit well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus
