IME Financial Coordinator
Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush is nationally recognized as a leader in comprehensive orthopedic services. They are seeking a full-time IME Financial Coordinator responsible for following up on Independent Medical Exams and ensuring timely payment for services by contacting various payers.
Responsibilities
- Mails out bills with reports to insurance company or law firm
- Submits claims and documentation to responsible parties for processing and payment
- Maintaining telephone contact with parties as needed to inform and update
- Maintaining documentation of all correspondence and contact with carrier, claimant, physician, attorneys, etc. to ensure a comprehensive and detailed source of information regarding the case
- Complete account review and distribution of payments from unallocated accounts
- Maintain a positive demeanor with patients, peers, supervisors and physicians, especially when receiving feedback or direction
- Assist staff members when necessary in a positive and professional manner to ensure the patients receive the utmost in care
- Perform work with accuracy to minimize error correction by other staff members
- Double check data entry to ensure the correct information has been entered into the NextGen and Athena system
- Organize and prioritizes work to make sure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Stay abreast of and complies with all state and federal laws including HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA
- Adapt to change in positive and professional manner
- Any and all other duties as assigned
Skills
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of one year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Stay abreast of and complies with all state and federal laws including HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA
- Workers Comp experience helpful
