About the Role As a Cloud Engineer at American Express, you'll be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable, secure, and highly available cloud services within our Hybrid Platform as a Service (PaaS). You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including API engineering, UI engineering, QA, and product management, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Key Responsibilities Develop technical solutions to extend American Express' cloud platform, with a focus on building automation and providing highly scalable cloud services. Collaborate with the API engineering team to design and implement scalable API solutions that integrate with NSQL databases, platforms, and partner systems. Explore and leverage the latest technologies and libraries to enable the development of lightweight products and services. Implement best practices for software development, including usability models, code style compliance, integration, unit testing, and code review. Work with the QA team to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet our customers' expectations. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud computing, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within our organization. Essential Qualifications Experience with cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Private Cloud) and a deep understanding of cloud computing principles and architectures. Experience developing REST APIs using GoLang and/or other programming languages. Experience with Cloud Engineering, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Openshift, Docker, and other relevant technologies. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with NSQL databases and a general understanding of QE processes. Knowledge of agile application development methodologies and a willingness to adapt to changing requirements. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree. Knowledge of Agile application development methodologies and a general understanding of QE processes. Experience with open-source technologies and a willingness to contribute to the broader engineering community.
