[Remote] Metro Field Tech

The Metro Field Tech role involves hands-on tasks related to the installation, removal, and testing of optical and power equipment on live and non-live networks, ensuring seamless service delivery for customers.

Responsibilities

• You will install, remove, and test optical, DCN, and power equipment on both live and offline networks
• You will read and interpret Engineering Design Packages (EDPs), Visio drawings, and Methods of Procedure (MoPs)
• You will perform fiber work (run, clean, remove patch cords, terminate to FDPs)
• You will execute DC power cabling and -48DC live system work
• You will conduct rectifier/PDU installations and removals
• You will assist with basic testing of hardware and complete all documentation accurately and on time
• You will ensure job sites are clean, safe, and fully stocked with required materials/tools
• You will perform on-site audits and quality inspections (including virtual audits)
• You will be required to safely operate company/rented vehicles and follow all safety and ESD protocols
• You will need to communicate effectively with site leads, project managers, remote testers, and customers

Skills

• High School Diploma
• Previous experience installing network hardware from multiple vendors
• Ability to travel extensively across the US (up to 100%)
• Understanding of fiber optics and DC power
• Comfortable with cabling, racking, and module installation
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work independently
• Able to problem-solve and escalate issues when needed
• Ability to lift 40+ pounds regularly
• Comfortable with climbing ladders
• Required to be in Las Vegas for this role
