About the Role

The Student Success Coach position at arenaflex is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students. As a coach, you will be responsible for providing personalized support and guidance to a group of assigned students, empowering them to achieve academic excellence. Your primary responsibilities will include speaking with students over the phone, responding to inquiries, and proactively reaching out to students to offer support and encouragement. You will work from the comfort of your own home office, with a set schedule that defines a 40-hour workweek, aligning with our hours of operation from Monday to Thursday, 8am to 7pm CDT, and Friday and Saturday, 8am to 5pm CDT.

Key Responsibilities

• Support enrollment, student development, and retention services, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for our students.
• Manage a caseload of assigned students, coaching each through their degree program with proactive and timely outreach.
• Encourage and support students through daily and weekly outreach, helping them develop the skills and knowledge necessary for academic success.
• Provide a trusted and supportive environment where students feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, aspirations, concerns, and interests.
• Offer guidance on utilizing resources to maximize student success, including teaching students how to effectively use these resources.
• Become a certified resume reviewer, providing resume and career development support to our students.
• Act as a liaison between students and various departments, ensuring seamless communication and support.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning, recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent).
• At least two years of experience in academic/admissions support, customer service, human resources, and/or counseling.
• Knowledge of academic policies and procedures, with the ability to learn technical skills quickly.
• Excellent communication and listening skills, including a pleasant phone manner and strong customer support focus.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Experience working in a remote or virtual environment.
• Familiarity with student information systems and other educational software.
• Certification in resume writing or career coaching.
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying learning needs.
