Senior Software/DevOps Engineer- INTL BRAZIL

Insight Global's client is looking for a consultant who has a blend of software engineering and devops for their team. They will be working on the backend, creating the pipelines, all the flow, if the app dev team makes changes, they will do all the automation. Their "customers" are the app dev teams, and the more self service and automation they are able to bring to them, the more value that brings to them. • The goal of the migration is to move away from legacy tools. • This company currently uses 10 different DevOps tools, which creates overhead for the team supporting them. o Managing, updating, and handling vulnerabilities across these tools is resource-intensive. o There are skill set issues, as expertise in all 10 tools is needed. • Renewing licenses for these tools costs millions of dollars. o Standardizing on one tech stack will improve efficiency. • The role focuses on backend applications within the DevOps organization. • Responsibilities include: Building DevOps pipelines. - Automating the flow from code changes to deployment. - Building automations to improve user experience for app dev teams (the direct customers). - Increasing self-service capabilities to add value and reduce manual work • This team wants to build a culture where team members take ownership of their areas, ensuring they meet expectations and assist other engineers. • A current challenge is that people complete tasks and move on, rather than taking ownership. The goal is to shift towards an ownership-based model. • Looking for someone who can ramp up quickly and work independently, which is why they are looking for a senior-level candidate. • Looking for someone who can help other engineers, share knowledge, and prevent reliance on a single person for critical information. They want to avoid a situation where "if he goes for vacation, okay, nobody can do anything." Required Skills & Experience - 5-7 years of engineering experience - Java or Python - Scripting bash - bash or python - Experience designing, implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Github actions - Experience with GitOps workflows (as a framework) using tools like ArgoCD (they use this more) or Flux - Cloud platform experience - (AWS, GCP or Azure) - Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Helm - Ability to drive things, work independently and able to learn - Ability to mentor and knowledge share - Someone who can work in ambiguity and can take steps to work on things. - Someone who can work in a phased approach.
