Assistant Investment Officer
The Assistant Investment Officer (AIO) is a hybrid position within the City’s Investment Division, with a combination of on-site and remote work, reporting to the Chief Investment Officer and working alongside a Senior Investment Officer, a fellow Assistant Investment Officer, and a Senior Management Analyst. The AIO supports the management of the City’s short-duration fixed income portfolios while also contributing to the Division’s broader operational functions. This role is well suited for a fixed income professional who is looking to grow their career in public sector investment management.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Perform credit analysis of corporate bonds and money market instruments, credit risk monitoring, and portfolio exposure analysis.
• Support trading activities and assist in portfolio management, including trade execution, securities settlement, and ongoing monitoring of portfolio positioning.
• Assist in portfolio accounting reconciliation, including with the investment accounting system, Sympro.
• Contribute to month-end reporting, and compliance tasks.
• Reinforce the Division’s operational resilience by supporting banking and merchant credit card processes—overseeing contracts, preparing RFPs, reconciling and approving invoices, and liaising with City departments, Information Technology, ERP, and external banking and processing firms.
