**Our Pharmacy Technician Training Program**

This apprenticeship program provides an entry point to a career in healthcare, guiding you in becoming a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) licensed Pharmacy Technician and supporting you in maintaining the high level of skill required in the pharmacy care industry.
**Key Responsibilities**
As a Pharmacy Technician at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for:
* Assisting pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with national and federal regulations
* Using pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information and process prescriptions
* Modeling and providing a unique and delightful customer experience
* Engaging customers and patients by greeting them and providing assistance with services and products
* Resolving customer issues and answering inquiries to ensure a superb customer experience
* Developing strong relationships with most valuable customers
* Performing duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, personnel Pharmacist, and store supervisor, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug records, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy
* Assisting pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow
* Reporting prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhering to company rules and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the quality improvement program
* Registering all related income on assigned cash register, collecting and handling coins as required
* Taking customers to the OTC aisle to assist in finding merchandise
* Handling telephone calls that don't require the personal attention of the pharmacist
* Processing and resubmitting claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner
* Assisting and supporting the Pharmacy department on stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription drugs
* Maintaining knowledge of company asset security procedures and documenting claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order mistakes, or broken goods related to Rx capsules
* Assisting pharmacists in administering medical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required
* Assisting the Pharmacy Supervisor and personnel Pharmacist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, through clinical provider detailing and outreach to healthcare agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for reinforcing growth opportunities
**Education & Personal Development**
* Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the arenaflex training program and/or state required certification/registration
* Attends training and completes PPLs as assigned by the manager and acquires continuing education credit
* Maintains expertise and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest information and developments
* Through completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, experience qualifies for 8 (8) college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE)
**Basic Qualifications**
* Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Choose six months of experience in a retail environment
* Choose to have previous work experience with arenaflex
* Desire math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
* Desire computer skills
* Desire knowledge of store inventory management
* Prefer PTCB certification
