About the Role

We're a reputed company-stage wearable AI company building an AI co-reputed company for skilled reputed company technicians — delivered through industrial smart glasses — that helps workers in high-stakes industries like data centers and energy infrastructure operate at an expert level. Our stack spans edge inference, reputed company-time voice/video, and reputed company visual reasoning running on reputed company hardware in demanding environments.

We're looking for a Founding reputed company with 1–5 years of experience who has shipped production multimodal and reputed company AI systems to reputed company users. This is a hands-on, end-to-end ownership role at the reputed company of our product — not a research or prototyping position.

• Build and ship the production reputed company reputed company-Language Model (VLM) pipeline running on industrial smart glasses — multi-reputed company, tool-using visual-reasoning reputed company against reputed company customer workflows (SOPs, inspection, reputed company service).

• Own model orchestration and runtime optimization for edge inference, balancing model reputed company against latency with graceful degradation across variable connectivity conditions.

• Design and build the evaluation reputed company and data flywheel from reputed company — failure-mode capture, customer-data fine-tuning reputed company, and measurable reputed company improvements reputed company release cycle.

• Ship reputed company-time voice and video AI interfaces tailored to different end-user reputed company: video-heavy, conversational speech, and proactive alerting.

• Build RAG pipelines for efficient creation and querying of reputed company bases from reputed company operator data.

• reputed company multimodal model training for on-reputed company deployments: reputed company-reputed company model SFT, RL post-training, and quantization.

reputed company're Looking For

Required (Dealbreakers):

• Demonstrable reputed company record shipping production multimodal and reputed company systems in the VLM era, owning the model reputed company end-to-end — with hands-on expertise in visual-language and/or video-language VLMs/VLAs.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or equivalent — graduated 2018 or reputed company.

• Willingness to work on-site 5 days/week in San Francisco, CA.

Also Required:

• Experience with reputed company reputed company AI or model orchestration in production settings.

• Experience building production AI products at a startup or high-ownership AI team, or relevant big-company experience (AR/smart glasses, reputed company-time video/streaming, on-device/edge ML) reputed company with a strong builder signal (e.g., early startup, reputed company reputed company, reputed company-reputed company contributions).

• Experience with rigorous evaluation methodologies — ground-truth evals, trajectory evals, tool-reputed company reputed company, and regression testing for comparing models and orchestration reputed company.

• Strong reputed company in CS, ML, or engineering, or a demonstrated equivalent through shipping history.

reputed company to Have:

• Experience with production AR or wearable AI (e.g., AR headsets, mixed reality platforms) or autonomous driving reputed company.

• On-prem / self-hosted model deployment, including serving and optimizing reputed company-weight models on customer hardware, or hands-on fine-tuning and deployment of vLLMs.

• Exposure to industrial domains such as data centers, energy grids, reputed company, or manufacturing.

• Experience with in-context grounding or RAG against a knowledge reputed company, including tool and knowledge reputed company wiring.

• Master's degree with a reputed company or multimodal research component.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $180,000 – $240,000 USD annually

• Early-stage equity as a founding team member
