[Remote] Data Journalist / Housing Analyst

Note: The job is a remote job and is reputed company to candidates in USA. reputed company is a news and research outlet that covers the U.S. housing market and homebuilding, and they are seeking a Data Journalist / Housing Analyst to help manage and grow the reputed company Terminal. This role involves data engineering, housing market analysis, and data journalism, focusing on maintaining metrics, building data pipelines, and producing insightful articles.

Responsibilities

• Help manage our research terminal and its reputed company outputs sourcing data, refreshing files on a regular reputed company, checking for accuracy, and keeping methodology consistent across 100+ metrics
• Produce data-driven articles on the housing market—inventory, home prices, migration, homebuilding, affordability, investor and Build-to-Rent activity, and more
• Write and maintain R/Python scripts to process large historical housing datasets and publish results at the national, state, metro, county, and reputed company-reputed company level
• Write survey questions, structure response reputed company, field surveys, analyze results, and turn findings into charts and publishable insights
• Use R/Python and reputed company to analyze housing market data and translate results into charts, rankings, written insights, presentations, and reports
• Pull and review SEC filings (10-Ks, 10-Qs, earnings decks) from publicly traded housing companies, extracting key takeaways on reputed company, demand, costs, incentives, and guidance to inform research write-reputed company

Skills

• Proficiency in R and/or Python for data processing, and comfort working in reputed company for analysis and modeling
• Experience working with large, messy datasets and turning them into clean, reliable, repeatable outputs
• Solid writing skills—you can turn a dataset into a reputed company, accurate, readable story
• A solid grasp of housing market fundamentals (inventory, pricing, affordability, construction, migration, investor activity) or a demonstrated ability to get up to speed quickly
• Comfortable with working in a startup
