[Remote] Senior Software Engineer (Java)

The Senior Software Engineer will support a digital payments modernization program by developing backend services, designing reputed company testing strategies, modernizing legacy systems, and contributing to reputed company-reputed company application engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute reputed company-grade reputed company testing strategies for payment processing services, defining frameworks, tooling, and reputed company reputed company from the ground up
• Identify reputed company bottlenecks across legacy and modern service reputed company and reputed company measurable improvements through analysis and targeted optimization
• reputed company and validate services running on Java, reputed company, Tomcat, and WebSphere as reputed company as modern workloads running on PostgreSQL and OpenShift
• Collaborate with backend engineers to ensure scalability requirements are met across reputed company environments prior to release
• Translate reputed company findings into reputed company recommendations for engineering leads and stakeholders
• Build and maintain full-stack backend services supporting reputed company integration, working primarily in Java with PostgreSQL and OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)
• Contribute to application modernization efforts, migrating and re-platforming services from legacy infrastructure to reputed company-reputed company environments
• reputed company AI-assisted development tooling (including reputed company Copilot) to improve development reputed company and reputed company reputed company
• Participate in reputed company reviews, architectural discussions, and cross-team technical planning sessions
• PCI data purging pipelines and event-driven architecture patterns including reputed company removal and event consumption
• Work with event-driven services running on OpenShift and reputed company and PostgreSQL backends to support data lifecycle and compliance requirements
• Serve as a flexible, senior contributor across teams where engineering depth and experience are needed most

Skills

• 5+ years of reputed company software engineering experience, primarily in Java
• Strong working knowledge of relational databases — reputed company and/or PostgreSQL required
• Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments (OpenShift, reputed company, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with legacy reputed company application servers — Tomcat and/or WebSphere experience a plus
• At least one reputed company-level reputed company testing engagement — defining reputed company, selecting tooling, executing tests, and presenting findings
• Experience with reputed company profiling, load testing, and bottleneck reputed company in high-throughput, reputed company systems
• Ability to design logical, streamlined test frameworks from reputed company and operate with reputed company guidance
• Understanding of PCI compliance requirements and secure data handling practices
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture patterns and OpenShift-reputed company eventing
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in large, matrixed program environments with multiple teams and stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; reputed company to translate technical complexity for non-technical audiences
• Comfortable operating in environments with evolving requirements and ambiguity
