Job Description
We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Mainframe System Administrator to join our team in a remote work environment. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for administering IBM Mainframe z/OS 2.6 and 3.0, leveraging your expertise in LPAR technology, product support, and automation tools like OPSMVS, CA1/CA7/CA11, and Librarian. Your skills in SMP installs and z/Netview will be invaluable in driving success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer IBM Mainframe z/OS 2.6 and 3.0, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Develop and implement automation scripts using OPSMVS, CA1/CA7/CA11, and Librarian to streamline processes and reduce manual errors.
- Collaborate with product teams to resolve environmental issues and ensure seamless system operation.
- Work as part of a team in a mainframe environment, providing consultative and solution-delivery skills combined with strong leadership and project implementation capabilities.
- Develop and maintain documentation for mainframe systems, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide 24/7 support for critical mainframe systems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest mainframe technologies, tools, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve system performance and efficiency.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Effective negotiation, coaching, mentoring, and solution architect skills.
- Strong understanding of hardware, architecture, virtual environments, technology, protocols, interfaces, and financial acumen.
- Ability to design customer solutions, provide market insights, and understand client portfolios.
- Proficiency in infrastructure capacity, performance analysis, solution definition, and technical sales.
- Experience with Ops MVS and CA1/CA7/CA11.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
