Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist to join our team at blithequark. As a key member of our CPAP Centralized Care Team, you will provide support to our customers, including patients, referral sources, and employees, by performing tasks related to patient care and third-party reimbursement. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accuracy with clinical, billing, and care-related information and processing, serving as the first line of contact with new customers. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer support to patients, referral sources, and employees, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Collect co-pays and deductible amounts, conduct insurance verification and eligibility for services/products, and obtain authorization and qualification documentation
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current products and services, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines
  • Maintain accuracy and quality control throughout patient contact and data entry, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Manage all aspects of initial intake, including answering phone calls, receiving faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, and inputting data into our systems
  • Prepare complete and accurate files for the Billing Department, ensuring timely and efficient processing of patient information
  • Process new orders, respond to questions, and resolve issues or forward to appropriate personnel in a timely manner to ensure patient, referral, and employee satisfaction
  • Provide product/service information and education to patients, answering questions and offering assistance as needed
  • Work extensively with our proprietary system, eIntake, to manage patient information and ensure seamless communication with our team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of our team and the delivery of exceptional patient care

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required, with one to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience in the medical field and administrative record management, with a strong background in customer service
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with a helpful, knowledgeable, and polite demeanor
  • Knowledge of medical billing practices and billing reimbursement, with the ability to interpret a variety of communications in English (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and visual)
  • Maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information, with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location employees, and patients
  • Self-motivation, organization, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical terminology and knowledge of medical billing practices, with experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail
  • Experience working with electronic health records and other healthcare software applications, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance
  • Ability to work in a remote environment, with a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace
