NDT inspector

Responsibilities
- Interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents
- Verify that the preparation of the parts complies with the requirements of the method
- Possess the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare and adjust equipment, inspect parts, interpret and evaluate results to determine the acceptance or rejection of components in accordance with procedures
- Perform the interpretation and evaluation of specific products, or forms of products
- Record inspection results
- Interpret standards, codes and specifications and translate them into work instruction for level 3 approval in the method
- Propose a technique for a specific inspection
Skills
- D.E.C. or a D.E.P. or an equivalent in the field of Non-Destructive Testing
- Graduate of a Metallurgical Engineering Technology or Metallurgy Inspection program
- Equivalence of a technical field recognized by the Non-Destructive Testing sector
- Certification in Non-Destructive Testing from the Canadian General Standards Office (CGSB) or the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT)
- Level 2 certification in a Non-Destructive Testing method in accordance with National Aircraft Standard-410 (NAS-410) or European Standard 4179 (EN4179)
- Good knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and defects that may appear in manufacturing
- Ability to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents
- Ability to verify that the preparation of the parts complies with the requirements of the method
- Knowledge and skills necessary to prepare and adjust equipment, inspect parts, interpret and evaluate results to determine the acceptance or rejection of components in accordance with procedures
- Ability to perform the interpretation and evaluation of specific products, or forms of products
- Ability to record inspection results
- Ability to interpret standards, codes and specifications and translate them into work instruction for level 3 approval in the method
- Ability to propose a technique for a specific inspection
- Fluency in French and English, both oral and written – would be an asset
