Product Definition / Product Data Manager

As a Product Definition / Product Data Manager, you will manage engineering changes and produce component definitions while driving forward the Product Definition Capability within the Digital Design and Industrialization Team.


Responsibilities

  • Manage execution of engineering changes end-to-end from inception of change request, collation of inputs, evaluation and checking, to approval and communication of changes
  • Produce and (where adequate capability has been demonstrated) check Component definitions (such as Model Based Definitions - MBDs) in line with Engineering Standards to meet design intent, satisfying fit, form and function of the component whilst optimizing for manufacture
  • Own process documentation for product definition
  • Support delivery of the automation workstreams (such as MBD) and Digital Transformation Strategy, enabling future efficiencies within Engineering

Skills

  • Associates Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 1+ years of experience OR
  • Master's degree in Engineering OR
  • PhD in Engineering
  • To be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Demonstrate strong communication and coordination skills; this includes working internally and with our external MSPs (Managed Service Providers) to deliver solutions
  • Experience with process management, data analysis, and quality assurance of product definitions
  • Demonstrate skills working with influencing stakeholders across an organization
  • Experience in CAD modeling (Siemens NX), product lifecycle management (PLM) software (Teamcenter), and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T drawing standards per ASME Y14.5M and/or ISO) is essential for this role
  • Highly numerate with good technical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability and capable of systems level thinking
  • Have appropriate engineering experience in conceptual and detail design, detail definition methods and a good understanding of manufacturing techniques
