Transcriber for Japanese

Japanese Transcription & Linguistic Reviewer Location: Remote (Japan-based) Duration: 3-Month Contract Schedule: 40 hours per week About the Role AI Solutions is seeking experienced Transcribers and Linguistic Reviewers to support Japanese ↔ English transcription initiatives. This role plays a critical part in developing a scalable, high-quality transcription program by ensuring linguistic accuracy, consistency, and strong quality control standards. This position is fully remote and based in Japan. Key Responsibilities • Accurately transcribe audio and video content in Japanese to English or English to Japanese. • Capture speech phonetically and document non-speech elements (e.g., background noise, laughter) per formatting and tagging guidelines. • Conduct quality reviews of transcriptions completed by other linguists to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established standards. • Develop assessments and training materials to onboard and upskill new transcribers. • Provide structured feedback and recommend process improvements to enhance transcription quality at scale. • Collaborate with U.S.-based teams to align on priorities, timelines, and quality expectations. Required Qualifications • Prior professional experience in translation and transcription within Japanese and English. • Native fluency in Japanese with professional proficiency in English. • Strong attention to spelling, grammar, punctuation, and linguistic nuance. • Demonstrated ability to maintain high accuracy under tight deadlines. • Experience working with multimedia content (audio/video transcription). • Experience conducting linguistic quality assurance (QA). • Ability to commit to 40 hours per week. Preferred Qualifications • Familiarity with slang, technical terminology, or medical terminology. • Experience developing training materials or assessment frameworks.
