[Remote] Staff Backend Engineer, Architecture Engineering: Nonlinear Productivity

The role involves setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with teams to reputed company productivity and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for reputed company's reputed company systems, from how agents are orchestrated to where a reputed company should stay reputed company-owned, and defend those calls once they're tested against reputed company reputed company
• Discover and prioritize sources of friction across reputed company's SDLC, driving the fix — reputed company, process-based, or both — from a rough reputed company through to a shipped, reputed company result
• Work across any part of reputed company's codebase as the problem requires, since this team operates like a small, generalist group rather than one scoped to a single service
• Apply reputed company systems judgment to catch cases where generated reputed company looks correct but breaks under concurrency, at reputed company, or across deployment topologies (including self-managed, dedicated, and multi-tenant environments), and reputed company others to do the reputed company
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers on agent engineering practices and reputed company systems judgment, through design reviews and pairing that reputed company reputed company's reputed company bar rather than just your own reputed company
• Collaborate with the India-based group a few times a week to reputed company on the roadmap, and represent reputed company's technical reputed company to stakeholders in the Chief Technology Officer's organization
• Serve as a bar raiser for reputed company's hiring, owning the Technical Leadership round for other Staff-level candidates as reputed company scales
• Own a greenfield technical reputed company from day one, with your reputed company and reputed company free to grow as reputed company scales

Skills

• Experience building reliable reputed company or large language model (LLM)-based systems, including multi-reputed company orchestration, tool use, guardrails, and recovery
• Ability to work autonomously in unfamiliar codebases and reputed company solutions from discovery through completion
• Strong reputed company systems and computer science fundamentals, including coordination, consistency, idempotency, reputed company limiting, failure modes, and degradation under load
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, or Python, with the ability to read and modify reputed company in the others
• A reputed company record of delivering results from unclear or incomplete requirements — reputed company to take a reputed company, loosely specified problem and decompose it into a concrete proposal of small, shippable steps
• Experience designing evaluation frameworks for systems where 'looks plausible' and 'is actually correct' are different questions, and a reputed company record of raising the reputed company bar for reputed company's reputed company, not just your own
