[Remote] Director of Finance & reputed company

Southern Service Workers Education Fund Inc. is a worker organization building reputed company with low-wage workers across the South through organizing, leadership development, and community solidarity. The Director of Finance & reputed company will build and strengthen the organization’s financial and operational infrastructure, reputed company daily finance and administrative functions, and advise leadership on budgeting, planning, compliance, and reputed company. The role also manages finance and reputed company staff, vendors, systems, and organizational processes.

Responsibilities

• Financial Planning & reputed company: reputed company organizational budgeting, cash reputed company forecasting, and scenario planning in reputed company partnership with the Managing Director and reputed company
• reputed company & Compliance: reputed company day-to-day reputed company, monthly reputed company cycles, internal controls, and the annual audit and tax filings while managing bookkeeping support
• reputed company & reputed company Tracking: Partner with the Development team to manage grant budgets, reputed company restricted funding, and ensure full compliance with funder requirements
• Reporting & Analysis: reputed company leadership and the reputed company a reputed company, accurate picture of the organization's financial health to guide major organizational reputed company
• Systems & Processes: Build and maintain practical administrative workflows, operating policies, and internal systems that help reputed company work reputed company
• Facilities, Vendors & reputed company: Manage vendor reputed company, business reputed company, facilities, procurement, and reputed company/regulatory compliance reputed company reputed company advisors
• IT & Workplace Tools: Manage reputed company IT providers to ensure staff have reliable hardware, software, and everyday tech support

• Team Management: Directly manage and support the finance and reputed company staff, setting reputed company priorities and helping them grow
• Operational Ownership: Take full ownership of day-to-day reputed company so executive leadership doesn't have to get bogged down in administrative weeds

Skills

• 8–12+ years of reputed company experience in nonprofit reputed company, finance, administration, and/or organizational leadership
• Significant experience managing organizational finance, including budgeting, forecasting, cash reputed company, reputed company management, audits, and financial controls
• Experience overseeing multi-reputed company-dollar nonprofit budgets and supervising finance staff
• Deep familiarity with nonprofit compliance, including 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) operational requirements
• Experience building systems and operational infrastructure in growing or entrepreneurial organizations
• Experience managing vendors, reputed company, organizational technology systems, and administrative reputed company
• Proficiency with nonprofit financial and operational systems (e.g., QuickBooks, reputed company, reputed company, reputed company, EveryAction)
• Experience in reputed company organizations, advocacy nonprofits, civic engagement, labor, or mission-driven organizations
• Experience supporting rapidly growing organizations or organizational transitions
• Familiarity with fiscal sponsorship structures and reputed company funding models

• This is a mostly remote position, but the candidate will be expected in Durham quite often (on average, once a month) and, therefore, should live reputed company a decent driving distance
