Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Virtual Assistant to join our Technology and Innovation team as a full-time remote employee. As a Virtual Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of technology solutions and services across the organization. This is a unique opportunity to work with a talented team, drive business outcomes, and contribute to the future of Southwest Airlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams to deliver solutions and services that meet business needs.
- Develop and implement strategies and processes to improve performance and the value of products and services provided.
- Lead a cross-functional team to deliver solutions and services that address business problems.
- Drive and see through to resolution organization, team, and individual issues.
- Participate in organizational processes and initiatives, such as performance management, meetings, planning, and training.
- Provide technical thought leadership related to the assigned functional area.
- Deliver technology solutions using best practices to achieve the greatest team productivity while delivering high-quality products.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, processes, and solutions connected to assigned responsibilities.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships and credibility while influencing and driving change across individual Business and Innovation teams.
- Work closely with Innovation and colleagues to gauge financial benefits and obvious business value.
- May perform other job responsibilities as directed by Employee's Managers.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge of business/technology principles, including planning, organizing, developing, and administering.
- Knowledge of technology practices, concepts, methods, tools, and trends.
- Skilled in collaboration and communication to work effectively with business clients and technology teams.
- Ability to use appropriate motivation and influence methods to achieve desired team results.
- Ability to set and manage partner expectations.
- Ability to deliver quality activities on time and within budget.
- Skilled in organization, communication, and prioritization, and ability to work in a matrixed environment that includes employees, vendors, and managed services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Linux and Unix.
- Knowledge of Capacity planning.
Skills and Competencies

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of technology's role in driving business outcomes.
