Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Virtual Assistant to join our Technology and Innovation team as a full-time remote employee. As a Virtual Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of technology solutions and services across the organization. This is a unique opportunity to work with a talented team, drive business outcomes, and contribute to the future of Southwest Airlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams to deliver solutions and services that meet business needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies and processes to improve performance and the value of products and services provided.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to deliver solutions and services that address business problems.
  • Drive and see through to resolution organization, team, and individual issues.
  • Participate in organizational processes and initiatives, such as performance management, meetings, planning, and training.
  • Provide technical thought leadership related to the assigned functional area.
  • Deliver technology solutions using best practices to achieve the greatest team productivity while delivering high-quality products.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, processes, and solutions connected to assigned responsibilities.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships and credibility while influencing and driving change across individual Business and Innovation teams.
  • Work closely with Innovation and colleagues to gauge financial benefits and obvious business value.
  • May perform other job responsibilities as directed by Employee's Managers.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of business/technology principles, including planning, organizing, developing, and administering.
  • Knowledge of technology practices, concepts, methods, tools, and trends.
  • Skilled in collaboration and communication to work effectively with business clients and technology teams.
  • Ability to use appropriate motivation and influence methods to achieve desired team results.
  • Ability to set and manage partner expectations.
  • Ability to deliver quality activities on time and within budget.
  • Skilled in organization, communication, and prioritization, and ability to work in a matrixed environment that includes employees, vendors, and managed services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Linux and Unix.
  • Knowledge of Capacity planning.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of technology's role in driving business outcomes.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and IT service management frameworks.
