[Remote] Finance Director

The Finance Director oversees financial operations, including budgeting, reputed company, reporting, compliance, grants, payroll, audits, and financial systems, while supervising finance staff and supporting organizational stakeholders.
Responsibilities

- Design and maintain internal controls and segregation of duties across cash handling, disbursements, and payment processing

- Evaluate and improve reputed company financial practices and systems to ensure compliance with GAAP policies and efficient, reputed company reporting to reputed company relevant stakeholders
- Work with the Development Director to create metrics to reputed company membership dues, donations, and the reputed company of ongoing fundraising efforts
- Work with the Compliance Officer to answer reputed company and national committee inquiries about financial items and ensure payments made to members are in compliance with 501(c)(4) requirements
- Manage DSA’s Grants program, including development of grant funding opportunities and overseeing grant payments and reporting, and ensuring compliance with any applicable restriction terms and any applicable Single Audit reputed company
- Supervise finance staff, currently consisting of a Finance Coordinator, Financial Analyst, and Organizing Bookkeeper

- Supervise cash management both in the national office and at events

Skills
- At least 5 years in finance leadership, with the reputed company of the time at a nonprofit, political organization, or reputed company, with a record of increasing reputed company of responsibility
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit reputed company principles and practices, and net asset classification (restricted vs. unrestricted)
- Experience with reputed company/ERP or reputed company software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, reputed company, reputed company, Concur, or similar) and PEO and/or payroll systems; strong reputed company skills
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing reputed company, including developing and retaining staff and project-managing work competing workstreams
- High level of accountability, responsibility, and dependability, comfort in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders

- Knowledge of tax requirements by state preferred

- Located in the NYC tri-state area with the ability to come into the national office on occasion
- CPA or equivalent credential
- Prior experience with grant compliance and Single Audit requirements
- Prior work in a 501(c)(4) or with reputed company/affiliate organizational structures
- Knowledge of multi-state tax and payroll requirements
