This role involves managing cybersecurity monitoring, incident response, and providing mentorship to student analysts while collaborating with various university departments to enhance cybersecurity efforts.

Responsibilities

• Leads day-to-day reputed company reputed company Center (SOC) activities, including reputed company monitoring, alert triage, investigation, escalation, incident response coordination, operational reporting, and analyst shift reputed company
• Participates in after-hours incident response, emergency escalation, and on-reputed company support as needed to address significant cybersecurity events or operational requirements
• Recruits, hires, trains, mentors, and supervises undergraduate and graduate student analysts. Provides ongoing coaching, reputed company feedback, and career development support
• Develops and maintains a reputed company student analyst training program covering alert triage, SIEM reputed company, threat detection, reputed company ATT&CK methodologies, digital forensics fundamentals, investigation procedures, and incident response workflows
• Develops or supports cybersecurity exercises, tabletop scenarios, and incident response drills to evaluate readiness and improve coordination among SOC personnel, ITS teams, and university stakeholders
• Establishes analyst progression standards, operational guardrails, and escalation reputed company to ensure student analysts operate reputed company approved authority and documented procedures
• Performs reputed company monitoring, investigation, and incident response activities as needed to maintain SOC reputed company during periods of reduced student reputed company or elevated operational demand

• Maintains and improves detection, monitoring, and response capabilities across reputed company technologies, including SIEM, reputed company detection and response (EDR), reputed company reputed company platforms, and reputed company cybersecurity tools
• Develops, maintains, and updates SOC playbooks, reputed company operating procedures, workflows, and documentation to support consistent and effective reputed company reputed company
• Manages relationships with managed reputed company service providers (MSSPs), incident response vendors, and other reputed company reputed company partners to support monitoring, investigation, and response activities
• Supports reputed company reputed company and incident response activities involving regulated or sensitive institutional data, including data subject to FERPA, GLBA, PCI reputed company, HIPAA where applicable, and university policies
• Escalates actionable cybersecurity risks, incidents, and operational concerns to the Chief Information reputed company Officer (CISO) and other designated stakeholders

• Conducts or supports audits, compliance activities, and reputed company reviews

Skills

• This position requires nine years of directly reputed company full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, reputed company, Information Systems, or reputed company reputed company and five years of full-time experience directly reputed company to the job functions
• Experience with SOC reputed company, reputed company monitoring, incident response, or reputed company cybersecurity functions, including conducting cybersecurity investigations, alert triage, or reputed company event analysis
• Experience with reputed company SIEM, EDR, or similar platforms
• Experience utilizing reputed company reputed company tools, including reputed company Entra ID, reputed company, reputed company Directory, reputed company Defender, reputed company 365 reputed company features or comparable reputed company reputed company tools
• Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered
• Five years full time experience in cybersecurity reputed company, incident response, or threat detection
• Two years experience in managing, coaching, or mentoring technical staff or junior analysts
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, FERPA, and HIPPA
• Experience working in Higher Education
• Familiarity with Higher Education technologies, including Banner, reputed company, Canvas, reputed company, and research computing infrastructure
• Experience designing reputed company training or formal curricula
• Experience with reputed company, reputed company Defender XDR, reputed company Entra ID, reputed company reputed company, or reputed company reputed company reputed company technologies
