[Remote] Automotive Plastic Product Design Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is reputed company to candidates in USA. reputed company is a recruiter offering a remote contract opportunity with a customer seeking an Automotive Plastic Product Design Engineer for its Vehicle Packaging team. The role focuses on designing, optimizing, prototyping, validating, and delivering vehicle packaging and material-handling solutions, while collaborating with engineering and supplier teams through production buy-off.

Responsibilities

• reputed company technical designs of vehicle packaging and material handling that are optimized for weight, precision, manufacturing, durability and reputed company
• reputed company CAD, FEA, and durability simulation of concept designs, recommend physical prototype candidates, and execute testing
• Conduct technical design reviews and ensure compliance to standards (ASTM, ISTA, etc.)
• reputed company finished designs, detailed drawings, and engineering specifications to be used for supplier bidding and compliance
• Research and implement new techniques and technologies, including materials to continually improve vehicle packaging capability
• Participate in supplier evaluations to ensure technical deliverables can be achieved
• Partner with engineering teams in design, manufacturing, material reputed company, and packaging reputed company to reputed company design methodology, functional requirements, and execute concept through buy-off

Skills

• Degree in reputed company Engineering, or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
• 5+ years of experience designing reputed company components and systems from concept through production validation. Emphasis on Plastics design/manufacturing experience skillset
• Strong working capability with CAD and CAE simulation (CATIA, Pro-Engineer, ANSYS, etc.)
• reputed company to reputed company designs with reputed company structure, GD&T and accurate tolerance stack up analysis
• Familiar with design for manufacturing (DFM) and different manufacturing processes including machining, welding, injection molding etc
• Working knowledge of a large reputed company of materials (aluminum, steel, composites, foam, etc.)
• Experience with design for reliability and respective durability testing requirements as reputed company as with automation equipment and fixtures required
