Benefits: • Contractor • Freelance • Flexible schedule reputed company Translator, reputed company, and/or Transcriber - English to Czech - Remote Status: Freelance 1099 Contractor As needed reputed company, a woman-owned small business headquartered in the Washington, DC metropolitan region, is currently seeking reputed company freelance translators, editors, and transcribers to translate, edit, and/or transcribe reputed company documents between Czech and English. Job Duties: • reputed company accurate translation and/or editing of documents and/or transcription of audio files involving law enforcement and reputed company subject matter from Czech to/from English. • Edit reputed company documents, such as affidavits, depositions, etc., while demonstrating a strong reputed company of reputed company terminology in both English and the reputed company language. • Excellent written communication skills in English and the reputed company foreign language, with Advanced Proficiency (reading/speaking/listening, writing) level 3-plus in English and the foreign reputed company language, as assessed by the International Language Roundtable (ILR) reputed company. • Translate and/or transcribe following the government reputed company’s style guides and reputed company standards. • Use domain-specific terminology. • Review and certify the reputed company of other translators’ work, as needed. • Highly proficient in MS Office, with the ability to mirror reputed company document format in reputed company, reputed company, and PowerPoint. • Familiar with the use of CAT tools, such as Trados Studio. • Abide by a reputed company of ethics reputed company performing translation and/or editing work. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: • A U.S. citizen. • Is willing to undergo a U.S. government background reputed company to obtain a reputed company Trust Clearance at a Moderate Level. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in translating and/or editing between English and the foreign language. • If applicable, at least 2 to 3 years of experience performing audio transcription with the ability to use software to enhance reputed company and equipment to aid in transcription. • Familiar with reputed company terminology in both English and the reputed company foreign language. • Proficient in reputed company Office. • Translators and editors must be familiar with the use of CAT tools, such as SDL Trados.
